Lead Pharmacy Technician
We are looking to hire an experienced and proactive Compounding Managing Lead Technician to oversee and coordinate non-sterile compounding operations under Section 10. You will have full ownership of daily production leadership, technical service liaison, and team training, and will report to the Head of Compounding Services.
This is an ideal role for someone who wants to challenge themselves in a regulated, fast-paced environment and manage end-to-end compounding workflows to deliver safe, high-quality unlicensed medicines. If you like problem-solving, mentoring others, and implementing GMP improvements, this role is for you!
What you’ll be doing
Leading daily non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring accuracy, GMP compliance, and adherence to Section 10
Supervising the preparation, labelling, and packaging of solid oral and liquid dosage forms (e.g. capsules, topical solutions)
Conducting staff training, supervision, and ongoing competency assessments for technicians and support staff
Maintaining and enforcing SOPs, batch records, cleaning protocols, and cleanroom documentation
Coordinating Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for cleanroom and production equipment, working closely with engineers and technical service providers
Supporting quality assurance processes including deviation reporting, CAPA implementation, validation, and internal audits
Organising team huddles, writing meeting minutes, and working toward key performance indicators (KPIs)
What we need from you
Experience
GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician
Proven track record in leading compounding operations in a GMP-regulated setting
Experience preparing unlicensed medicines in a cleanroom or specials manufacturing environment
Hands-on involvement in equipment maintenance, calibration, and environmental monitoring
Familiarity with QA, QMS, and regulatory requirements
Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
Skilled in workflow planning, production scheduling, and stock control
Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices
Competent in working cross-functionally with QA, engineering, and procurement
Able to identify and implement service improvements and operational consistency
