Production Manager
We are looking to hire a production manager (Saturday - Wednesday) to ensure effective management of all pharmacy production operations, particularly during the weekend. You will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day of the pharmacy team and ensuring the timely and correct dispatch of products, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager and the Superintendent Pharmacist.
This is an ideal role for someone who wants to challenge themselves in a fast-paced environment and manage exceptional patient care with world class dispensing services in order to promote accuracy, quality, and patient delight. If you are a strong leader, with a can do attitude, and strong problem solving skills, this role is for you!
What you’ll be doing
- Leadership & Supervision: Directly supervise and lead the pharmacy production team during weekend shifts, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- OTIF: This is the north star metric for you to engage with. The Production Manager should have their finger directly on the pulse of the operation and react instantly to ensure OTIF is met on a day by day basis - escalating any concerns or where support is needed to the Senior Operations Manager Immediately.
- Workflow Optimisation: Plan, organise, and monitor the dispensing workflow to ensure maximum efficiency, accuracy, and timely completion of prescriptions.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce robust quality control procedures to minimise errors and ensure adherence to all dispensing protocols and patient safety standards.
- Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate staff, equipment, and materials to meet dispensing demands and manage fluctuating workloads.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, bottlenecks, and staffing challenges that arise during weekend shifts.
- Compliance: Support the Responsible Pharmacist in ensuring strict adherence to GPhC standards, company SOPs, relevant health and safety regulations, and data protection guidelines (e.g., GDPR).
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on weekend production metrics, challenges, and achievements to the Senior Operations Manager.
- Staff Training & Development: Assist the Learning and Development Lead in the training and ongoing development of pharmacy production staff, including new hires, ensuring they are proficient in their roles and understand best practices.
- Inventory Management: Support efficient inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and managing stock levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies to prevent shortages and minimize waste.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned by the Senior Operations Manager or Superintendent Pharmacist to support the overall functioning of the pharmacy.
