Senior Legal Counsel
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Brazil! You will be a key member of our Legal department, with a strong focus on healthcare regulation, corporate and contractual matters, risk mitigation, and strategic legal support to internal stakeholders. You will help us ensure compliance with complex healthcare regulations, manage legal risks, and provide critical guidance to support the company’s continued growth. This is a high-impact role with cross-functional exposure and opportunities to shape the legal function as we scale.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice on healthcare regulatory matters, corporate law, and compliance, ensuring adherence to ANVISA, CFM, CADE, CNS, and other applicable regulations
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with healthcare providers, partners, and vendors, ensuring risk mitigation and legal compliance
- Lead and manage administrative procedures before regulatory authorities, as well as civil judicial proceedings, from strategy definition to execution
- Monitor changes in healthcare and corporate legislation, assessing their impact on business operations and proposing solutions
- Act as a liaison with external law firms for complex litigation and regulatory matters
- Support corporate governance, M&A, and business structuring initiatives when necessary
- Prepare and deliver training to internal teams on healthcare regulations, compliance, and corporate risk management
- Foster a business partner mindset, aligning legal strategies with company objectives and supporting decision-making processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) and valid license to practice law in Brazil (OAB registration)
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare regulation and corporate law, including direct work with ANVISA, CFM, CADE, and CNS
- Solid experience in regulatory law, healthcare law (direito sanitário), and both consultative and litigation matters
- Proven track record in handling administrative procedures before regulatory agencies and managing civil judicial processes
- Postgraduate degree in Medical Law or Healthcare Law (Direito Médico ou Direito Sanitário) is a strong plus
- Strong experience in contract drafting, analysis, and management
- Advanced or fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risks and business objectives
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
