People Operations Specialist
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Operations Specialist to join our growing People team. This role is key in helping us build a streamlined People Ops function that supports our scaling business.
You will be responsible for a wide range of operational tasks across the employee lifecycle, including systems optimisation and process improvement. You’ll work closely with the team to deliver an exceptional employee experience backed by robust policies and processes.
We’re going through a transitionary period at the moment, which means there’s a lot of project work for you to get involved in. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid People Ops experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with numbers and systems, and is motivated to drive improvements and build processes. If you have a solid understanding of HR and a passion for creating structure and clarity, this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Manage and improve our HRIS (Rippling), ensuring data accuracy, automation, and reporting.
- Own the pre-payroll process, including checking payroll inputs and supporting payroll accuracy.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth experience for employees.
- Support policy implementation and compliance in collaboration with the People Operations Lead.
- Contribute to People Ops projects and initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Provide general administrative support, including managing and producing HR documentation, letters, contracts and folders
- Maintain and improve internal documentation, FAQs, and self-serve processes.
- Administer our employee benefits, including health, wellbeing, learning, and other perks.
- Assist employees with queries and issues.
- Provide first-line advice to managers on processes and policy queries, escalating to the People Operations Lead or VP of People as appropriate.
- Conduct regular audits on employee data, right-to-work documentation, and contracts.
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in a People team.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable with numbers, data, payroll input, and HR systems.
- Experienced in HR operations in the UK, understanding and applying best practices.
- You demonstrate high levels of proactivity, autonomy, and ownership.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Always looking for ways to improve and simplify processes.
